For the first time in history, more people live in urban cities than in rural areas. If this growth continues, 60% of the American population will live in major cities by 2040. People in the City need to know where to go to find Christ and community. How will they know either if no one shows them?
City Uprising exists to propel the City Church by displaying God's love through community restoration, earning the trust of the community and the right to share the Good News, and ultimately bringing healing to the brokenness in our major cities.
City Uprising is a non-profit organization that connects Sending Churches with Urban Church Plants. We define a Sending Church as any established church seeking missional opportunities in major cities. Through a four-day intensive serving and worship experience, Sending Churches can assist Urban Church Plants in reaching their communities. City Uprising provides a tangible way for local urban churches to show their communities love through active service that meets the most immediate physical needs. In meeting these needs, City Uprising empowers the church plants to build a solid foundation within their community, ultimately bringing up disciples in these neighborhoods, who can spread the love and compassion of Jesus.
